Dogs Afield ("we", "us") helps dog owners connect at local parks and events. This policy explains what data we collect, why we need it, and your rights.


What We Collect

Account data: Your name, profile photo, and email (from Google or Apple sign-in).

Dog information: Names and breeds of your dogs.

Location: Your device's GPS coordinates when you use the app. This is needed to show nearby events and parks.

Content you create: Events you host, RSVPs, messages to other users, and icebreaker stories on your profile.

App usage: We track whether you've completed onboarding and seen introductory screens.

We process location data based on your consent — you can revoke this anytime in your device settings.

All other data is collected to provide the service you signed up for (contract).


Who We Share It With

Other users: Your name, profile photo, dogs, and icebreaker stories are visible to users at events you attend or host. Your email is never shown to others.

Supabase: We use Supabase to store your data and provide authentication. They act as our data processor.

Google Maps: Map tiles and location services are provided by Google. Their use of location data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Apple: If you sign in with Apple, authentication is handled by Apple. We do not receive your Apple email if you choose to hide it.


How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove all your personal data within 30 days.


Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your data — ask us what we hold about you
  • Correct your data — fix anything that's wrong
  • Delete your data — remove your account and all associated information
  • Export your data — receive a copy in a portable format
  • Restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Object to processing — tell us to stop using your data in certain ways
  • Withdraw consent — change your mind at any time (especially for location)

Children

Dogs Afield is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.


Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll notify you in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
